A Christmas Tradition I was Unaware of

Until last night I was unaware that Isaac would always point his storm trooper toward one of Sarah's skaters or Barbies on the tree...

  1. LOL. When we moved to Romania, we brought the wire-and-felt leprechaun I have been putting on our Christmas tree since the mid-60s. I have no idea how a leprechaun became part of Christmas tradition, but, well, there you go.

  2. Because Jesus was born for leprechauns too!

  3. Years ago I was given a pickle ornament, and then someone else gave me another one. apparently it is good luck in some tradition (Polish, I think, but although that is my husband's ancestry we didn't know about it)...

  4. Oh, yes, one person hides the pickle and the one who finds it gets a special present. I learned about this from a friend (no idea if she has a Polish background), and hide the pickle every year. Of course, there's only two of us in the house right now so ..... we haven't yet done the "pickle present" thing yet.

And Joelle, I LOVE the photo!!

  5. My daughter took the photo. She had to buy this expensive camera for a photojournalism class that was required for her journalism/english major. We hated spending the money, she was totally not interested in taking pictures, thought she would fail the class...and has turned into quite the photographer. I thought I would get her camera after the class but I think she is kind of attached to it now.
