So the folks at RevGalBlogPals are talking about bugs. Can I just say one thing?
EWWWWWW!!!!
I hate bugs. I hate them to be on me. Someday I am going to die in a fiery car crash because I was trying to swat a fly in the car away from me.
Lady bugs - Around here we have infestation of imposter lady bugs - Asian Beetles who come in the house in the fall to keep warm and they are all over. And they will bite you. And they stink. They were brought in by some farmers to eat the aphids and they took over. And they don't eat my aphids so what good are they???
Spiders - Sorry, if you are in my house, you die. I won't go out of my way to kill you outside...but in my house - you die.
Favorite Insect - butterflies of course. And even caterpillars. I grow dill in my garden just for the Black Swallowtail and milkweed for the monarchs.
Least favorite - I don't like any of them but spiders bother me - especially the brown ones -I've known people get very sick from their bites and they can kill a cat.
Good Bug Story:
So one morning I'm outside in my yard and I unknowingly walked through a spider web and there was one on me. I screamed and TOOK OFF MY SHIRT to get it off of me and ran back to the house in my bra screaming the whole time. My neighbors either didn't notice or kindly refrained from mentioning it.
Bonus - A Poem about an insect:
The Fly - By Ogden Nash
God in his wisdom made the fly
And then forgot to tell us why.
Great bug story! My dad went out starkers in an earthquake when I was little--we lived in an old house on the side of a hill and all my parents could think of was "get the kids out quick."
