The 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering is this summer in New Orleans. I've only been to one of these -the last one in San Antonio in 2006. I had a great time (well maybe not the 18 hour bus ride) but I couldn't get any kids interested this time around so I'll be staying home. This year all the kids will be involved in service projects helping the people of New Orleans which is still recovering from Katrina. We can be a part of that by buying supplies so they are ready to go when they get there - Check it out: 2009 Youth Challenge
