She had to apologize but I knew it was a fake when she also read a letter from one of her sycophant fans gushing about how she knew she wasn't a racist. Now she's quitting radio so she can help America by saying the N word as much as she wants. Because that is what we need in America now. More people using the N word.
She's still got a fan base though. So she'll be a big hit on the Tea Party Circuit. Not because they're racists; they just believe in free speech -- as long as you say something dumb and/or offensive.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why freedom of speech should mean freedom of criticism for what you say. Shouldn't freedom of speech extend to everyone else, too?
ReplyDeleteWhen you go on the air, you don't give up your freedom of speech, but you do put yourself out there and leave yourself open to criticism. If you complain about that, you are saying that freedom of speech extends only to you, and not to your critics. And you need to be able to compete in the marketplace of ideas.
I remember the old days of usenet and I would get in debates and tell people their arguments were stupid and they'd say "THIS IS AMERICA AND I HAVE A RIGHT TO MY OPINION" And I'd say, "No this is USENET but you still have a right to your opinion and I have the right to say it's stupid"
